Jose Paz Crisostomo was born on February 18, 1990, in Sylmar, California. He
grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and spent part of his childhood living in
Michoacan, Mexico.
He graduated from James Monroe High School in 2008 and attended California
State University, Northridge following high school. During his high school and college
years, he proved himself to be a strong leader and manager at Pacific Cinemas and later
at ArcLight Cinemas. Jose had a passion for film, and his time working at the cinemas
allowed him to combine this passion with his desire to hone his business and
managerial skills.
In 2012, he began working for Wells Fargo Bank. He rose quickly through the
leadership ranks at Wells Fargo, most recently serving as Branch Manager at several key
locations in the Los Angeles area. He was recognized in 2019 by Wells Fargo with the
Golden Spoke Award for his excellence in sales and management. Jose took great pride
in seeing his employees succeed and thrive under his guidance and mentorship. He also
developed several lifelong friendships with his colleagues. The news of his passing was
very hard on those he worked with. He left a legacy at Wells Fargo Bank, and his
presence, spirit, and enthusiasm for excellence will be greatly missed by his colleagues.
A Long Beach resident since 2013, Jose was the beloved dog dad of Beatrice,
Maeby, and most recently, Ellie. He loved exploring the city and making memories with
his partner, Brandon, and his many Long Beach friends. He also enjoyed traveling, and
he made many wonderful memories during recent years as he traveled the U.S. and
abroad. (Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany in 2019 was one of his favorite travel
highlights.)
Jose passed away on February 11, 2024, while visiting family in Patzcuaro,
Michoacan, Mexico. He was loved by his family, and they would like everyone to
remember him as a caring, selfless, independent person. They will never forget his
beautiful smile and his sweet and caring spirit.
Jose is survived by his father and mother, Sergio and Maria Dolores; his brother,
Sergio; sisters, Esperanza, Jacqueline, and Stephanie; brothers-in-law, Angel and Cesar;
sister-in-law, Denise; nephews, Little Angel, Michael, Logan, and Luca; nieces, Roselyn,
