Mayola "Emy" Perez, born on November 22, 1992, in Sylmar, California, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, in West Hills, California. A remarkable soul, her kindness, laughter, and zest for life brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Emy was a cherished daughter, sister, and friend, known for her compassion and ability to connect with others deeply. She was a wonderful listener, a trusted confidante, and a source of comfort for many. Her empathy and understanding were among her most beautiful qualities, making her presence a gift to those around her.
Her passions reflected her vibrant spirit. Emy loved exploring new recipes and sharing her culinary creations with loved ones, especially her beloved tamales during Christmas gatherings. She also found immense joy in music, drawing happiness and strength from the songs of BTS, her favorite Korean pop group. Her enthusiasm for Korean culture and her infectious laughter made her a delight to be around, creating countless cherished memories with family and friends.
Emy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. One of her proudest moments was dedicating her life to Jesus Christ and being baptized in His name. Despite the challenges she faced, she celebrated significant milestones, including finishing high school and earning a place on the transplant list—a testament to her resilience and determination.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Maria Teresa Perez and Eli Perez, who will carry forward her memory with love and cherished moments. She was predeceased by her dear mother, Petra Perez Valadez, whose spirit and love remained a guiding force in her life.
A celebration of Emy’s life will take place on January 27, 2025, at Iglesia de Jesucristo Manantial De Vida, located at 20040 Parthenia St, Los Angeles, CA 91324. The viewing will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:15 PM.
