Michael Coberly

April 29, 1974 — July 26, 2024

California City, California

Mike J. Coberly, a cherished husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on July 26, 2024 in California City, California, at the age of 50. Born on April 29, 1974, in Jose, California, Mike lived a life filled with adventure, dedication, and love.

For over 25 years, Mike devoted himself to a career in aviation. His work ethic and commitment were unmatched, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was not just a co-worker; he was a father figure to many of the younger members of the team. Guiding them with care and sharing invaluable knowledge, Mike ensured that the skills he imparted would live on through them, continually shaping the future of aviation.

More than his professional life, Mike found immense joy in the great outdoors. He was an outgoing spirit who thrived on adventure, whether it was motorcycle riding, camping, fishing, or exploring on dirt bikes and quads. He embraced nature with open arms, instilling a love for the outdoors in those around him. It was during these moments of escapade that he created lasting memories with his family, including his beloved wife, Hilary Coberly, and their wonderful sons, Mike D. Coberly and Issac Cota. With a sense of humor and a down-to-earth personality, Mike made every outing a memorable adventure.

Faith also played an essential role in Mike's life. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and took joy in attending church alongside his church family. These moments nurtured his spirit and bound him to a community that shared his values and love for God.

Mike's proudest accomplishments stemmed from his dedication to his family, his significant service in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Corporal, and his steadfast commitment to his work. Family was everything to Mike; he reveled in being a husband, father, and grandfather, and he took great pride in the joys that came with these roles. His legacy will be carried on by his treasured grandchildren, who were bright spots in his life.

He is survived by his wife Hilary, sons Mike D. Coberly and Issac Cota, his mother Theresa Gonzalez, father Roger Lee Coberly, and four grandchildren, who will remember him as the guiding light in their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, dedication, and love that will forever remind those who knew him of the incredible man he was.

A Funeral Service will be held on August 24, 2024, at Faith Mountain of the High Desert Pentecostal Apostolic Church in California City, California, followed by a Graveside Service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona, on August 26, 2024.

Mike will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the adventures he loved and the family that adored him.
